Stockholm fashion week was amazing. Above some random shots from various shows and from their backstage. Favorites of the Stockholm Fashion Week S/S 2011 shows were Carin Wester, Nakkna, Ida Sjöstedt, Lagom, Cheap Monday and The Local Firm. The usually way too preppy for my taste; Tiger of Sweden surprised me with its collection. The preppyness was still there, but the  psychedelic and colorful prints made it look fresh and fun. And not to forget the fantastic cocktail dresses made out of feathers (see photo above)!

Cheap Monday presented their collection outdoors, right by the sea. It was raining, but the audience's mood cheered up as soon as the show started with a blasting dance hall tune by Shabba Ranks. For the spring collection the design team took inspiration from Latin denim fashion, Italian diamonte, and LA celebrity style. Yikes. Yes, that's what I thought before seeing the collection, but the tackiness worked like a charm. For example, fake silver nails were used as embellishment on jeans and tops, and glittery tiger stripes decorated the surface of some heavily faded jeans. And what a nice surprise to find out our Finnish supermodel, Kirsi Pyrhönen opening the show for Cheap Monday. British supermodel, 40-year old Kirsten Owen is the face in the brand's S/S 2011 lookbook. Luckily we got to see her confident and fierce walk at the show, looking even more amazing than her younger fellow catwalkers.
