I was really excited to see Diesel's s/s 10 collection. They kept the collection simple in terms of prints and logos. Plenty of interesting details in clothes and mixture of different materials. The collection seemed mature and sophisticated, but at the same I felt like the fun Diesel spirit was still there. Vivid colors, accessories, washes and treatments took care of this.

The alchemy of fire & water inspired the S/S 10 washes and treatments for both male and female. The distressed and burned look of fire, was complimented by the water element, that created a cool and liquid feel. Color shades ranged from dark indigo denim to hard bleached pieces. The prints in garments looked like watercolor paintings. As if, the t-shirt was decorated with ink and then dipped into water.

The first time I heard Chisu 's music on myspace ... it must have been about two years ago. I liked her sound right away. And now, two years later I happen to see her new Baden-Baden music video on TV. First thought: Wow, she looks like Gwen Stefani (who I love!). Not only that, this girl (Chisu) made me smile BIG with this song. The lyrics are awesome! Really fun, witty and smart! Loved the video, specially Chisu's flirtatious charisma. Definitely the sassiest Finnish singer out there. What about her style? It looks really personal and untouched. In a great way untouched! In the way that no help of a professional stylist has been used when making this video. It really makes her personality blossom. Check out her video below. Chisu, you are wonderful!!

Scottish fashion designer Holly Fulton 's S/S 10 collection reminded me of a modern version of the whole tribal body-painting. She incorporated the Manhattan skyline into her art-deco pieces. Beautiful silk dresses covered in graphic black and white prints, and chuncky art-deco style accessories were my favorite picks of the collection.

I stopped by Via Monte Napoleone last thursday. A quite new luxury shop in the heart of Helsinki (Erottajankatu 2-4). Press and friends were invited for a fashion presentation, and a chill night for champagne and canapes. What caught my attention was the variety of accessories that the store carries. Of course, since the brands are mainly Prada, Dior, Gucci and Lanvin... the price for a bag is also around twice your monthly rent. But hey, I don't mind just staring at beautiful objects, whether I could afford them or not. Think about it as a free field trip to a museum!

So nice to see something different in the windows of Marimekko . I hope Marimekko would keep doing collaborations with young, fresh talents. The house really needs it! I'm so in love with this Rinne Niinikoski's knitted, colorful collection. I'm also loving the new print ads. Unfortunately in these photos below the graphic is missing.

Found the photo below from Hel-looks . Looks like the mood and the vintage cardigan could be straight from the Rinne-Niinikoski for Marimekko's collection.

French Vogue, November issue. What do you think of the cover? Many have been claiming that's too busy and disturbing. Well, it might be busy, but no way disturbing! I love it. Thumbs up for French Vogue for the wild and risky fashion take!

This is where I work. Usually it's not this tidy. I spend approximately 10 hours a day here... It's a comfortable place...

... And it's a very fashionable place to hang out in. See below, Martin Margiela got inspired for its' S/S 10 collection by the gigantic wall paper, and covered his own models in palm tree-paper dresses. Prada got the same idea, but translated the palm tree print motif into silk.

The back bags are slowly making a major come back. What I'm really trying to find for myself is one of those small back bags (pikku-reppu) that we used to wear in the nineties. They're ugly, but at the same, cool. Exactly the tackyness is attractive. Ugly is the new black!

Kasino A4 Magazine. Issue # 00
Last saturday we celebrated Kasino A4 magazine's #10—THE DEADLINE ISSUE. It is said to be the final Kasino A4 ever... But we'll see if it's true or not. Some sort of a reincarnation it's claimed to happen next year. But back to the party! The party was held in Bio Rex, and the entrance was guaranteed with a necklace provided by Aaltonen & Tamminen . So, you had to get the necklace prior the entrance to the party. Fun little game, that made the entrance feel more special. Misf*ts Dj's took care that the  dance floor was busy all night. Peroni provided ice cold beer, which eh, disappeared from my sight faster than I could count to three. See, in Finland this open bar culture will never really work in a ''sophisticated'' way. People kept stashing beers, like it was going to end from the planet! Ivana Helsinki held a Fashion Show, which seemed like it was never going to end. Yes it was nice, but yes it was way too long as well. People were getting a bit anxious, wanting to get more drinks, going for a smoke, or getting to the loo.

All in all though, the night was fun, great, and I wish we can enjoy more parties like this in the fuure, provided of course by Kasino A4 Magazine, or it's reincarnation!
Here photos of happy party-people!
